ABOUT

Bethel church is a congregation of those who trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. We value the faithful expository preaching of the Bible, and believe that through that preaching the Holy Spirit works to save people by calling them to faith in Jesus and builds up those who do believe so they can live more and more as reflections of Jesus Christ. We have not arrived there, and still struggle to be brought into conformity with Christ, but we struggle to achieve that not on our own but by the grace of God working in us. We are a small congregation, and due to various things in the past, we are now also an elderly congregation who are praying that God will be gracious to us and provide new younger believers to our fellowship.

As a Reformed church, we hold to what are known as the three forms of unity. They are the Heidelberg Catechism, the Belgic Confession, and the Canons of Dort. We believe these documents, while not an infalible standard, are an accurate summary of what the Bible teaches.

If you are in the Exeter Ontario area on a Sunday, please stop in to worship with us. We enjoy having visitors join with us in worshiping our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Passage: 2 John 1:4-6

Often when the truth is on the line, and people are turning away from it, our response is wrong. Not in our holding to and defending the truth, but in our doing so in the wrong way. This sermon looks at how defending and living the truth requires living in love as well.
