Homesick... Psalm 84:5-8

Audio

Passage: Psalms 84:5-9

In the prior study, Asaph remarked about the sparrows and swallows who had made nests within and around the Temple. Like these small birds, believers in Jehovah returned yearly to the Temple to offer prayers, praise and sacrifices. It drew them back into His home, and brought them fellowship and renewed relationship with family, friends, and the Israeli culture while tightening their relationship with the God of the Universe. For those who came, it built "home"; for those who could not, for one reason or another, it built need to re-evaluate the choices they made and long to be close to family, friends and God again. Asaph explores this phenomenon and shares the benefits and heartsickness of those who can be a part, and those who are separated from this pilgrimage. t
