Out of Control and Anxious
We like to be in control of our lives because we feel that being in control will protect the things that are most important to us. When we lose control of a situation we often get anxious. We should not get anxious when a situation is out of our hands because it is still in God's hands. When we worry it is because we have stopped trusting that God will provide for us. The Bible teaches us that we should cast our anxieties on God because He cares for us as a loving Father and He has promised to provide for our needs.

Discipleship in Community (Jeff Lawrence & Dianne Miller)
Is it possible to follow Jesus alone? Well, Jesus began his work by inviting a small group of seemingly unimpressive men to become his disciples. Over three years, Jesus' character was shaped in them, Jesus' beliefs were refined in them, Jesus' mission was instilled in them, and Jesus' heart was nurtured in them. This vision for "discipleship in community" has rippled throughout centuries and continents, taking many different forms. What is undeniable, however, is that you can not fully follow Jesus on your own. The invitation to follow Jesus is an invitation to become a disciple as a part of a community of people who are learning to follow Jesus together. Do you have a small group of people that you connected to as a Christ-follower?

Community: Standard or Optional?
Is God enough? He promises to meet all our needs, (Phil. 4:19) but we don’t always know how He’ll accomplish that. We sometimes overlook the fact that God frequently uses other people to meet our needs. If we neglect cultivating relationships with other believers, we miss opportunities for God to fulfill our needs through them and reduce the likelihood that He’ll use us in someone else’s life. In this two part series, we’ll look at the importance of staying connected to fellow believers and how critical that connection becomes in times of crisis.

Facing Temptation with God on Your Side (Luke 4, Psalm 119)
Life is filled with all sorts of landscape. An all terrain faith is equally balanced for the breathtaking view from the mountaintop and the confusing trek though a cold, dark valley. It provides adequate support for walking in rough, rocky stretches and stability for the slippery spots. In this exploration of the Psalms, we will see that no matter where you find yourself in life there is an appropriate faith response to your life situation. Are you ready for the hike?
